Knobbe Martens Attorneys Named 2013 Washington Rising Stars by Super Lawyers

Partners Carol Pitzel Cruz, Christopher Sweeney and Mauricio Uribe, based in the Seattle, Washington office of Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP, have been selected as 2013 Washington Rising Stars by Super Lawyers for their intellectual property law and litigation practices.

Pitzel Cruz represents various clients in all aspects of intellectual property disputes, with a focus on patent litigation. She is experienced in the area of pharmaceutical litigation, especially litigation involving Abbreviated New Drug Applications under the Hatch-Waxman Act. Pitzel Cruz has also studied and spoken on the topic of the United States Biosimilars Legislation.

Sweeney has extensive experience in obtaining patent protection for clients with biotechnology, chemical and pharmaceutical technologies. His practice includes licensing, strategic client counseling, patent portfolio development, due diligence and invalidity and non-infringement opinions.

Uribe has extensive experience in client counseling in all aspects of intellectual property including patentability, licensing, due diligence and infringement mitigation matters. He assists clients in developing and managing comprehensive patent portfolios and intellectual property assets. Additionally, he manages various standards-based patent licensing matters.
