Joseph R. Re Installed As New President Of Federal Circuit Bar Association

| Joseph R. Re

Joseph R. Re, a partner of Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear, was installed as President of the Federal Circuit Bar Association (FCBA) at the organization's recent 10th Annual Bench & Bar meeting in Monterey, California.

The FCBA is a national bar association comprised of 2,500 private and government lawyers who practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington D.C.

"It is an honor to be selected to serve as President of such an important organization." said Re. "I hope to continue the organization's long-standing tradition of serving the court and its prominent national bar."

Re has been involved with the association since 1987 after serving as a law clerk for the Federal Circuit's first chief judge, the Honorable Howard T. Markey. Re has served the FCBA in various capacities since joining its board in 2001.

Since joining Knobbe Martens' Orange County office in 1987, Re has been litigating for clients in all types of intellectual-property disputes. His practice is primarily handling high-stake patent cases at trial and before the Federal Circuit. Re also serves on the Federal Circuit's advisory council.

The FCBA supports the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and those who practice before it while also offering a forum for dialogue between the bar and the court. The court is a national appellate court with exclusive jurisdiction over various appeals, primarily those involving the federal government and in patent cases.

Re, a New York native, received a law degree from St. John's University in New York City and a degree in civil engineering from Rutgers University in New Jersey.
