Knobbe Martens Ranked Among Top IP Firms Nationally for Patent Cooperation Treaty Filings

Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP, consistently ranked among the top intellectual property law firms worldwide, has once again been selected as one of the leading firms for international Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) filings according to a survey published by Managing IP magazine. The firm was ranked fourth among all firms in the United States and among the top 20 firms worldwide.

The Managing IP rankings are based on the number of PCT applications filed that were due for national stage entry during 2012, as published on the World Intellectual Property Organization’s website.

The PCT is an international patent law treaty that provides a unified procedure for filing patent applications. Under the PCT, inventors can file a single international patent application in one language with one patent office in order to preserve the option to protect an invention in PCT member countries. A high number of PCT filings indicates that the firm works with companies that sell products internationally. The 2012 PCT Survey Rankings and methodology can be found at www.managingip.com.
