Knobbe Martens’ Bryan Wahl Named to Lawyers on the Fast Track List
Bryan Wahl, M.D., partner at Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP, has been named to the Lawyers on the Fast Track list by The Recorder. He is one of only 50 lawyers recognized in the inaugural list which honors California lawyers whose early accomplishments suggest they will be among the leaders of the legal profession in coming years.
In noting the achievements that led to Dr. Wahl’s selection inclusion on the list, The Recorder noted that Dr. Wahl takes the term “high achiever” to a whole new level. Not only did he make partner at the age of 33, he dedicates his nights and weekends to practicing medicine in hospital wards and the ICU.
During the week, Dr. Wahl focuses his law practice on intellectual property protection, infringement studies, financings, and strategic transactions especially with respect to medical devices and biotechnology. Last year, he facilitated the $43 million acquisition of client Embrella Cardiovascular Inc., by building its patent portfolio and defending acquisition diligence. He also helped a prominent university obtain patents concerning a promising treatment for HIV. In addition, Wahl also volunteers his dual talents, working pro bono for indigent clients referred by the Public Law Center and Kids in Need of Defense, and at free medical clinics.
After reviewing more than 300 nominations of lawyers in their first ten years or less of practice, the Recorder editors selected the honorees based on three areas - substantial accomplishments in leadership positions within the firm or practice community, significant responsibility in high-stakes matters and extensive community involvement.
