Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the United States, has been ranked in the top 10 nationally and number one headquartered in the west coast in patent litigation by an annual survey conducted by IP Law & Business magazine. The survey, which appears in the July 2007 issue of IP Law & Business as well as online, ranks firms across the United States in the category of patent litigation for the representation of both plaintiffs and defendants. Results were based on the number of patent suits filed in federal district courts during the calendar year 2006 that were still active on February 1, 2007 submitted by more than 250 law firms nationwide. IP Law & Business then ranked each firm based on which had the most active patent litigation department. Both IP specialty firms as well as large general practice firms with IP groups were considered in the survey. For the past 10 years on a nationwide basis, Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear has been placed in the top 10 in the prosecution and litigation categories by Managing Intellectual Property magazine.
