On Friday, June 21, starting at 4:00 p.m., Knobbe Martens Partner Adeel Akhtar will be moderating a panel titled “Representing Startups and Venture Capital Funds” at the North American South Asian Bar Association (NASABA) 2013 Annual Convention in San Francisco, CA.

This panel explores the nature of the venture capital/emerging growth practice, focusing on the role that lawyers play in representing early stage companies and venture capital firms and the typical legal issues that arise in representing young, high growth companies from inception to financing to exit through merger or IPO. The panelists will discuss the top mistakes that entrepreneurs make and recent trends and predictions, including the rise of seed funding and incubators, the increased number of technology IPOs, and crowdfunding and the JOBS Act.
