Matthew Friedrichs

Matthew Friedrichs, an associate in the firm’s Washington DC office, is focused on his clients’ vision and is committed to delivering outstanding intellectual property services tailored to fit their needs. Matt is a part of the firm’s Washingtion DC litigation team and has represented clients in patent litigation before districts courts across the country, the PTAB, and International Trade Commission. He is deeply interested in the areas of construction, clean technology, and intellectual property management in China.

To the table Matt brings a diverse background of experience having interned for Hon. Gershwin A. Drain in the Eastern District of Michigan United States District Court, served as an assistant editor on the Wayne State Law Review, and worked in the frenzied environment of a tech start up. Additionally, he has also written on the topics of intellectual property theft in China and the development of the Chinese IP court system.

Prior to joining Knobbe Martens, Matt managed city and statewide campaigns for a Detroit based non-profit organization and developed a comprehensive client management system for the online fundraising website Crowdrise.

Matt completed his undergraduate studies in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Michigan and received his J.D. from Wayne State University in Detroit.
