Ryan Furtado is an associate that focuses on obtaining international and US IP rights for his clients. Ryan has extensive patent prosecution and counseling experience in the wireless power, telecommunications, internet technology, video coding, software, medical device, and automotive industries. His experience includes licensing, trademark registration, and due diligence for patent portfolio acquisitions and investigations.
Ryan’s patent prosecution experience includes domestic and international patent prosecution in various technologies, including autonomous driving software and hardware, automotive and electronic wireless charging, human-machine-interface (HMI) software and hardware, blockchain-based systems, database systems, image capture and compression, wired and wireless communications, automotive power monitoring and distribution management, cloud-networked medical devices, and more.
Prior to law school, Ryan worked as a consultant in industrial automation and manufacturing. Ryan specialized in automating industrial processes in the food/beverage, pharmaceutical, personal care product, automotive, and aerospace industries. His responsibilities included planning and overseeing construction and implementation of automated control systems, such as high speed packaging systems, automotive assembly line, and aircraft analysis systems. Such efforts including designing, programming, and integrating industrial controllers, sensors, and HMIs to provide real-time, seamless operation and control of automated systems by client operators.
Mr. Furtado joined the firm in 2013.
