Josepher Li is a litigator in the Orange County office of Knobbe Martens. His practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, with an emphasis on patent matters. He represents both patentees and accused infringers in cases involving a wide range of technologies. The cases he handles, both inside and outside the patent context, are typically technology-focused and involve or have involved software, consumer electronics, automotive technology, and pharmaceuticals.
In addition to his litigation practice, Josepher also counsels clients on offensive and defensive pre-litigation strategy, patent protection, and infringement and validity. Josepher is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and has experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the mechanical arts including medical device technologies.
Josepher received his S.B. degree in Aerospace Engineering from MIT. He received his law degree from The Ohio State University, where he served as an editor of I/S: A Journal of Law and Policy for the Information Society. During law school, Josepher was also a member of the Criminal Prosecution Clinic. As a student prosecutor, he successfully prosecuted misdemeanor cases in municipal court.
Prior to joining the firm, Josepher gained experience in a variety of technological areas. He has worked with a team to build unmanned aerial vehicles and has worked at a start-up company that designs and manufactures Triple-CubeSat satellites. He has also published biochemistry research in a peer-reviewed journal.
