For over 20 years, Josué Villalta has helped clients protect their inventions in the U.S. and internationally. Josué's practice includes global utility and design patent portfolio development, IP audits, IP transfer agreements, due diligence associated with financings and acquisitions, and competitive landscape analysis including legal opinions, recommendations for design-arounds and pre-litigation strategy.
Josué represents clients in a wide range of technologies, including Cleantech, medical devices, consumer electronics and automotive. In the Cleantech space, Josué has experience with, among others, photovoltaic solar energy, concentrated solar power, nuclear energy and gravity-based energy storage technologies. In medical devices, Josué has experience with orthopedic, ophthalmic, surgical robotic, vascular, and prosthetic technologies.
Before joining the firm, Josué was a senior mechanical engineer with General Electric's Power Generation division, where he focused on heat transfer and fluid dynamics analyses of commercial nuclear power plants under transient operating conditions.
Josué joined the firm in 2002 and became a partner in 2008.
