Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP, is pleased to announce that The Recorder has recognized partner Joseph Re as a “Game Changer” for his work obtaining a critical appellate reversal on behalf of client AccessClosure Inc. In the process, Re not only helped to make new law on double-patenting, he also helped AccessClosure’s investors sell the company for $320 million. Re was one of only six law firm attorneys given an honorary distinction in conjunction with the publication’s annual 2015 “Litigation Department of the Year” awards, marking the first time it has singled out individual litigators. Re was presented with the award at The Recorder’s April 27th awards reception in San Francisco.
The Recorder’s “Litigation Department of the Year” awards also recognized Knobbe Martens for having one of the top two Intellectual Property practices in California. You can learn more about this honor here.
“AccessClosure went through very stressful times while in major patent litigation. I am so happy for the company and its investors that it all worked out in the end.” said Knobbe Martens Partner Joseph Re.
Re, a partner in the firm’s Irvine office, has recently received a number of other honors as well, including being named one of the Top 25 lawyers in Lawdragon’s “500 Leading Lawyers in America 2014-2015” list, one of the Top 75 Intellectual Property Litigators in the Daily Journal’s “Top Intellectual Property Lawyers in California”, and one of 25 Intellectual Property “MVPs of the Year” by Law360.
