IRVINE, Calif., October 13, 2026 – Knobbe Martens has been shortlisted as among the country’s most innovative law firms at the 2026 Financial Times Innovative Lawyers North America Awards. The awards recognize “the best examples of lawyers using influence and creative problem solving to guide clients towards agile, sustainable outcomes.”
The firm is shortlisted twice in the Science & Technology category for securing standout litigation successes on behalf of clients in the medical device industry. These include guiding Applied Medical to a $381 million verdict against Medtronic in a landmark antitrust case involving anticompetitive bundling and exclusive dealing in the medical device industry; and, success for Masimo Corp. and Willow Laboratories in a long-running intellectual property dispute against Apple resulting in a $634 million verdict—subsequently raised to $818.5 million with prejudgment interest, one of the largest-ever patent infringement awards in the medical device sector.
Winners will be recognized on December 7 at the 2026 Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards ceremony in New York City.
This is the latest in a series of recognitions for Knobbe Martens’ Litigation practice, which has a proven track record of success on behalf of clients across the medical device and life sciences industries. Last month, Law360 named Knobbe Martens a “California Powerhouse”, highlighting multiple high-profile wins throughout the past year. Earlier this year, the firm was named a finalist in The Recorder’s Tech Industry Litigation Department of the Year awards.
