IRVINE, Calif., September 30, 2024 – Knobbe Martens is pleased to share that partner Christy Lea has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA).
OCBA Board members are elected to three-year terms and are tasked with furthering the OCBA’s mission of “enhancing the system of justice, supporting the lawyers who serve it, and assisting the community served by it.” Ms. Lea’s term will commence in January 2025.
Ms. Lea is one of three new members elected to the OCBA Board. She joins numerous other Knobbe Martens lawyers who have served in leadership roles with the OCBA, including two founders of the firm—Don Martens and Jim Bear—who served as OCBA President.
Commenting on her election to the Board, Ms. Lea said, “This is a great honor, and I am grateful for the tremendous support I received from my colleagues and peers. As one of the oldest, and largest, law firms in Orange County, Knobbe Martens has a rich tradition of service with the Orange County Bar Association dating back to our founding more than 60 years ago. I look forward to continuing that legacy.”
Ms. Lea is an accomplished and industry-recognized litigator who for over two decades has represented clients in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries in high-stakes patent and trade secret disputes.
As a founding member of Knobbe Martens’ Pro Bono and Diversity committees, Ms. Lea is fiercely committed to giving back to her community. Prior to her election to the OCBA Board, Ms. Lea served as Co-Chair of the OCBA’s Pro Bono Committee. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Orange County Public Law Center, where she previously served as President of the Board and Co-Chair for the Volunteers for Justice Annual Fundraising Dinner.
The Orange County Bar Association is one of the largest volunteer bar associations in California. More information about the OCBA and its work may be found at www.ocbar.org.
