Phillip J. Minnick
Phillip Jay Minnick is a Ph.D. biochemist in our San Diego office focused on the protection of intellectual property for the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device industries.
P.J.’s doctoral and post-doctoral studies utilized biochemical and molecular genetic techniques, including molecular cloning, DNA sequencing, flow cytometry, fluorescence activated cell sorting, and fluorescent microscopy to understand and visualize the molecular mechanisms underlying the evolution of drug resistance. Prior to his doctoral studies, P.J. gained professional and technical experience in analytical chemistry as a submariner in the nuclear Navy, and as a laboratory technician for an agricultural chemical production facility.
