Julie Vo primarily focuses on all areas of domestic and international trademark law including, counseling, prosecution, maintenance, audits, licensing, policing, and enforcement.
Julie counsels clients in domestic and international trademark portfolio management, including trademark selection and searches, prosecution, and enforcement. She also advises clients on domain name disputes, counterfeit enforcement, intellectual property transactions, and unfair competition.
Prior to joining the firm, Julie worked for the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in several roles. As a trademark examining attorney, Julie gained extensive prosecution experience through conducting searches of the federal trademark database and her examination of thousands of trademark applications in various industries, including consumer products, fashion and apparel, beauty, food and beverage, financial services, medical devices, and software and information technology. She was also selected to be part of a team of attorneys responsible for the special examination of trademark applications relating to cannabis and other controlled substances under the Federal Controlled Substances Act (CSA) and the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA).
Additionally, Julie is experienced in drafting ex-parte appeal briefs before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). While at the USPTO, Julie was selected as a supervisory attorney responsible for training newly hired examining attorneys in trademark prosecution.
