Christy Lea, litigation partner at Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP, has been named among the top 10 life science litigators in the United States by Managing Intellectual Property.
Based in the firm’s Orange County office, Lea represents clients in high-stake patent cases at both the trial and appellate levels. Her practice focuses primarily on medical device and pharmaceutical cases.
Lea was recognized for her work in Lupin Atlantis Holdings v. Ranbaxy Labs in which she represented Ranbaxy in a Hatch-Waxman patent infringement suit in the Southern District of New York. Following depositions and summary judgment briefing, the firm successfully settled the case on behalf of Ranbaxy. She was also recognized for her role in successfully obtaining an invalidity ruling due to obviousness in the Western District of Texas on behalf of medical-device client Smith & Nephew in Kinetic Concepts v. Smith & Nephew.
Lea was selected as a result of over 1,000 online surveys, interviews with nearly 600 attorneys in the United States and a comprehensive review of case dockets. The research resulted in a top 10 list of the highest profile, most sought-after and best-respected patent litigators working in life sciences. The full list can be found at www.managingip.com.
