Knobbe Martens Partner Brian Claassen Elected President of Federal Bar Association Orange County (FBAOC)

| Brian C. Claassen

Knobbe Martens is pleased to announce that partner Brian Claassen has been elected President of the Orange County Chapter of the Federal Bar Association for the current year. Claassen, an intellectual property litigator, represents clients in federal courts around the country, the International Trade Commission and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. He has served in FBA/OC leadership positions since 2018.

The FBA/OC, started in 1985, has more than 300 members and serves as a bridge between federal judges and lawyers who practice in the Central District of California. Its well-known interactive CLE seminars and social occasions attract both members and a variety of non-member legal professionals. The bar’s annual summer “Bench and Bar” events are organized to encourage summer associates to mingle with and meet federal judges and federal lawyers in a relaxed setting outside the courtroom.

“I’m honored to lead the chapter in returning to in-person events,” said Claassen. “Our Board looks forward to gathering the legal community to foster collegial relationships between the bar and judiciary. We strive to serve the needs of federal practitioners and help new lawyers succeed in federal court.”

As a litigator, Claassen consistently obtains favorable results for both plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes technology cases. In addition to his success in district and appellate courts, Claassen advocates on behalf of patent owners and challengers before the International Trade Commission and the Patent Office.

The Federal Bar Association was founded in 1920 to improve the federal legal system and provide professional development to lawyers practicing in federal court. Members include practicing attorneys and federal judges, as well as military lawyers, law professors, and lawyers at government agencies. The Orange County Chapter is one of more than 100 chapters across the United States.
