Douglas W. Crandell, Ph.D.
Doug Crandell is an associate in the San Diego office. He focuses on patent prosecution and patent litigation in the chemical and pharmaceutical fields.
Doug received his Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from Indiana University. His research focused on using computational chemistry methods to better understand mechanism of transition metal-catalyzed reactions and properties of inorganic materials. Prior to law school, Doug was an assistant professor of chemistry at Saint Louis University.
Doug earned his J.D. cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis in 2022. During law school, Doug assisted clients in Washington University’s Intellectual Property Clinic with patent, copyright, and trademark matters. He also served as the chief sources editor for the Journal of Law & Policy and as vice president of the Intellectual Property Law Society.
