Overview
Gabrielle (“Gabby”) Capulong focuses on patent prosecution and portfolio strategy for software and medical device technologies, including utility and design patents. Her practice supports clients developing software-based systems and platforms, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud-based and distributed technologies, and data processing, as well as medical devices incorporating embedded software. Her practice further includes technologies involving predictive modeling, networking, and sensing-enabled and therapeutic devices.
Gabby has additional experience supporting trademark-related matters, including trademark prosecution and domain name disputes under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP).
She earned her undergraduate degree in Computer Science with a minor in Cognitive Science and completed foundational coursework in biology, chemistry, and physics, including laboratory work in molecular biology. She also completed a graduate-level course in artificial intelligence.
While in law school, Gabby gained initial patent prosecution experience at a New York City patent prosecution firm. She later worked at an intellectual property boutique, assisting with trademark prosecution, copyright-related matters, and domain name dispute proceedings, before joining Knobbe Martens as a summer associate.
