Excerpt: “On July 1, 2021, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (the “NCAA”) adopted sweeping policy changes designed to enable collegiate athletes to profit from their name, image, and likeness (“NIL”). These policies suspended the previous rules that prohibited collegiate athletes from profiting from their NIL, and were largely in response to mounting pressure from state governments threatening to implement their own policies.”
