Lawyer Monthly Magazine, a global news website and legal publication, has recognized three Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear, LLP attorneys in its “2015 Women in Law Awards,” which highlights the achievements of outstanding women in the legal profession around the world. Partners Stacey Halpern, Catherine Holland and Lynda Zadra-Symes, who practice in the firm’s Orange County office, have received the award and will be featured in a special May edition of the magazine.
Stacey Halpern’s practice focuses on all areas of domestic and international trademark, unfair competition and copyright matters, including, counseling, prosecution, audits, maintenance, policing, licensing and enforcement. Ms. Holland’s practice includes domestic and foreign trademark portfolio strategy and management, including selection, clearance, prosecution, procurement and enforcement of rights; inter partes proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, intellectual property audits, intellectual property licensing, franchising, domain name disputes, counterfeit goods and customs enforcement, copyrights, entertainment law, rights of publicity, and enforcement of trademark, copyright and other intellectual property rights in contested proceedings and on the internet and in social media.
Lynda Zadra-Symes is a litigation partner who represents clients through all stages of U.S. litigation, from pre-suits through trial and appeal, in federal courts throughout the country and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Her practice involves all types of intellectual property, including patents, trade secrets, trademarks, copyrights, false advertising, rights of publicity and unfair competition. Ms. Zadra-Symes also advises on issues relating to customs and anti-counterfeiting, international trademarks and copyrights, advertising, social media, competition and passing off. Ms. Zadra-Symes is a Domain Name Dispute Panelist arbitrator for the World Intellectual Property Organization (“WIPO”) in Geneva, Switzerland, and has arbitrated numerous domain name disputes.
