Knobbe Martens is pleased to announce that partner Susan Natland has been recognized by World Intellectual Property Review (WIPR) as one of the globe’s most significant IP influencers. The inaugural publication of WIPR’s Influential Women in IP honors 80 female lawyers around the world for outstanding performance in their field, highlighting their role as a driving force in the IP sector.
The publication recognized Natland for her over 20 years as a “professional yet fierce” brand advocate for high-profile clients, handling trademark selection, procurement, licensing, enforcement and more. Natland was also acknowledged for her position as an adjunct professor of trademark law at UCLA School of Law.
“It’s an honor to stand alongside such remarkable attorneys,” said Natland. “As a member of Knobbe Marten’s Diversity Committee and a longtime advocate for the advancement of women in intellectual property law, I recognize the importance of promoting female leadership in IP law. I hope that one day there will be no need for women-specific recognition – but until then, I’m proudly recognized as a woman attorney doing such interesting and important work.”
Earlier this year, WIPR conducted a global survey of 277 law firm partners and staff to obtain information about experiences of gender equality. Respondents – the vast majority of which were women – were also given the opportunity to nominate female IP influencers considered exceptional in their field.
