Neil Anderson, an associate in Knobbe Martens’ Orange County office, has been named a “JD Supra Top Author” by the prominent legal publisher. Anderson is among just 224 authors selected by JD Supra for the honor out of the more than 40,000 authors who published articles on the platform in 2016. He was chosen for the high level of visibility and engagement his articles attained with readers in the medical device industry, one of 34 industry categories the Awards recognized. His most recent contribution analyzes how the Obamacare replacement would repeal the medical device tax. Other popular pieces cover FDA approvals of a closed-loop insulin pump and a liquid biopsy for detecting lung cancer, as well as articles about the first cervical corpectomy cage to receive 510(k) clearance and an acquisition involving two medical device makers. A full list of the articles Anderson published on JD Supra can be viewed here.
Anderson received his law degree from Cornell Law School, where he was a Managing Editor of the Cornell Law Review, and he holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Brigham Young University. As an undergraduate, he collaborated in designing tests to quantify biochemical markers and aided in synthesizing small RNA-binding molecules as a potential new method of treating HIV and bacterial infections. His law practice focuses on litigating and preparing patents in the chemical, biochemical, and pharmaceutical fields. Anderson joined the firm in 2015.
Additionally, JD Supra recognized Knobbe Martens as the “Top Firm” for thought leadership in the medical device industry, based on its consistent highest readership and engagement within that category for all of 2016. The firm’s attorneys, who contributed dozens of medical device-related articles to JD Supra in 2016, have guided medical device start-ups in all stages of development through capital formation, transactional due diligence, patent landscape, strategic patent prosecution, licensing and other IP agreements, and IP audits.
