Irvine, Calif. August 29, 2022 – Knobbe Martens is pleased to announce that partners Baraa Kahf and Jessica Achtsam have been selected as honorees at the Orange County Coalition for Diversity in the Law (OCCDL)’s 2022 DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) Awards. Mr. Kahf was named a “Top 10 Champion of DEI in the Law of OC” and Ms. Achtsam a “Top 10 Young Lawyer of OC”. Both will be recognized at the OCCDL Fall Awards Gala on September 29, 2022.
The OCCDL is committed to increasing diversity and inclusion within the Orange County legal community. Its awards recognize legal organizations, champions of diversity and young diverse attorneys who provide excellent legal services and have proven dedication to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in Orange County.
Mr. Kahf, a recognized leading IP litigator, serves as chair of Knobbe Martens’ Diversity Committee. For well over a decade, he has championed DE&I within and beyond the Orange County legal community, including serving on the Orange County Bar Association’s DEI Committee and as a board member for the National Association of Muslim Lawyers. He is also the Board Secretary for the Constitutional Rights Foundation and a member of its Mock Trial Committee.
Ms. Achtsam is a rapidly rising leader within the firm and the Orange County legal community. Since 2018, she has served on the Board of Directors for the Orange County Women Lawyers Association. She is also involved in Human Options Sisterhood events, supporting domestic violence shelters and resources for victims of domestic violence.
