Charlene Azema and Shannon Lam Recognized by Los Angeles Times as Orange County Inspirational Women
IRVINE, Calif., February 6, 2024 – Knobbe Martens is pleased to announce partners Charlene Azema and Shannon Lam have been recognized by the Los Angeles Times 2024 Orange County Inspirational Women Forum & Leadership Awards.
The awards recognize female business leaders who have demonstrated noteworthy success and accomplishments over the last two years. Nominees are assessed by their contributions and leadership within their organization, the business world, and the community at large. Winners will be honored at an in-person event hosted on March 28 at the Irvine Marriott Spectrum.
Charlene Azema counsels international clients from an array of industries in U.S. and international trademark and copyright portfolio management. She also helps clients develop IP procurement and expansion strategies and provides guidance related to domain names, social media, and brand marketing and advertising.
Ms. Azema serves on the firm’s Diversity Committee and is a proponent of DEI initiatives both within and outside the firm. In 2023, she was named a “Diverse Lawyer Making a Difference” by Profiles in Diversity Journal, a “Top 10 DEI Champion of Orange County” by the Orange County Coalition for Diversity in the Law, and a “World IP Leader” by World Intellectual Property Review.
Shannon Lam brings a biomedical engineering background to her patent prosecution-focused practice, and leadership skills that make her a sought-after mentor and advocate for many younger lawyers at the firm. Ms. Lam counsels clients ranging from fast-growth, emerging companies to major corporations in the medical device, food & beverage, and consumer products industries.
Ms. Lam is Chair of the firm’s Mentor Committee and previously served as Co-Chair the firm’s Women Associates Advisory Committee. She was recently named among the “2023 Women Worth Watching in STEM” by Profiles in Diversity Journal, was named a "World IP Leader" by World Intellectual Property Review, and has been recognized in The Legal 500 United States as being an outstanding practitioner.
