General Summary: Perform daily and monthly banking and general ledger tasks. Assist with payroll processing each payroll cycle. Work cohesively with team members and attorneys to ensure efficient and superior client service.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for daily cash reconciliations and deposits to the bank.
- Set up and maintain client litigation security accounts.
- Classify and file miscellaneous accounting records.
- Maintain bank accounts.
- Prepare bank reconciliations. Reconcile all bank accounts, including general, money markets, and checking accounts.
- Maintain trust account books and transfer funds daily to general bank account. Reconcile trust account ledger balance with trust account bank balances.
- Maintain adequate cash balances in PTO, European patent, WIPO, and other deposit accounts.
- Post cash receipts to subledger journals.
- Process outgoing wires and respond to banking questions.
- Reconcile GL accounts and maintain schedules.
- Prepare and post journal entries (debits and credits).
- Perform due diligence for unclaimed property.
- Assist in bi-weekly payroll processing.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- College degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years of applicable work experience.
- Pursuing CPA certification is a plus.
- Payroll processing experience is a plus.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Must be efficient, accurate and timely.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Team player with a positive attitude is a must.
- Must meet minimum testing requirements.
- Able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
Base salary for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
Supervisor’s Title: Assistant Controller
Status: Non-Exempt
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Hybrid option available. This position depends upon the ability of the employee to work closely with attorneys and staff members during regular scheduled hours. This position requires the ability to work overtime, which often cannot be predicted in advance.
