Announces launch of 2L program and significant increase of grants for diverse scholars
Irvine, Calif., September 7, 2022 – Knobbe Martens, one of the nation’s leading intellectual property law firms, is pleased to announce a significant expansion of its Diversity Scholarship Program, effective for the firm’s 2023 summer program.
Building on its existing scholarship program for diverse first-year law students, Knobbe Martens is expanding the program to include scholarships for diverse second-year law students as well. The firm is also doubling the amount of the first-year student scholarship to $30,000, while second-year scholarship recipients will receive $25,000.
Knobbe Martens launched its Diversity Scholarship Program in 2017 to further the firm’s commitment to promoting diversity in the IP bar and fostering a dynamic, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
Commenting on the expansion of the program, Knobbe Martens Managing Partner Steven Nataupsky said, “We recognize that our success as a firm depends on recruiting and nurturing talent who reflect the rich diversity of our clients and our communities. Our Diversity Scholarship Program is a key part of our effort to foster opportunities for law students from historically underrepresented groups, and I am very pleased to announce its expansion.”
In addition to the scholarship and participation in the Knobbe Martens summer program, scholars will be eligible to receive an offer to join the firm upon graduation from law school. Additional information about the program, including how to apply, can be found here.
Knobbe Martens has been recognized multiple times throughout the industry for its diversity and inclusion efforts. Most recently, Law360 ranked the firm among the top five most diverse mid-size law firms as part of the publication’s 2022 Diversity Snapshot. (Learn more here.)
