Knobbe Martens is pleased to announce that the firm’s General Counsel, Wendy Peterson, is a 2019 recipient of the Hall of Honor Award from the University of Hawai’i Shidler College of Business.

Peterson will be recognized, along with four other recipients, at a fundraising dinner on October 10 at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel. Since 1992, the college has inducted nearly 100 University of Hawai’i alumni into its Hall of Honor, celebrating them for their leadership, professional contributions and community involvement.

Peterson has handled Knobbe Martens’ internal legal matters since joining the firm 17 years ago. Previously, she was General Counsel of Wynn Oil Company, Assistant General Counsel of Parker-Hannifin Corporation’s Seal Group, and a corporate and securities law attorney for O’Melveny & Myers. The Orange County Business Journal recognized Peterson on its list of top influencers, the OC500, for the third time this year, and in 2011 named her General Counsel of the Year.

“I am deeply honored to receive this recognition from my alma mater, which I credit with helping to instill in me a strong work ethic and the desire to have a positive impact not only in the workplace but in the broader community,” said Peterson, who holds a JD and a BBA in Accounting from the University of Hawai’i.

Active in the Orange County community, Peterson has served on the board of directors of its Legal Aid Society, the American Heart Association’s Orange County Division, and Human Options, a nonprofit providing emergency services to victims of domestic violence. She also serves on the board of Shidler College’s Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship.
