The Orange County Register has published an article in its January issue, highlighting the Irvine Valley College (IVC) Astounding Inventions competition, an event sponsored by Knobbe Martens. The firm's sponsorship helps fund and judge the competition, and provides pro bono patent applications for winners from the Irvine and Tustin unified school districts.
Excerpt: Damien Howard, partner at Knobbe Martens, an intellectual property law firm, and a judge at the competition, said he was impressed by the ideas put forth by Orange County’s students. Aside from his duties as a judge, Howard was also there to select students to receive recommendations and assistance with a patent application. The ideas children come up with are often underestimated, he said.
