Christopher Sweeney Elected President of the Washington State Patent Law Association

Christopher Sweeney, a partner in Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP’s Seattle office, has been elected president of the Washington State Patent Law Association (WSPLA). His new position was announced at the Association’s Annual Meeting held at the Washington Athletic Club last month.

Sweeney will serve a one year term as president and will be responsible for general supervision of the affairs of the corporation, conducting all meetings of the Board of Directors and overseeing strategic planning for the organization. Sweeney has been an active member of the WSPLA since 2007, previously serving as chair of the patent office rules and procedures committee, a board member at large, treasurer, secretary and vice president.

Sweeney represents clients in a wide range of technological areas including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, industrial chemistry and medical devices. His practice includes strategic client counseling, patent procurement, intellectual property due diligence and invalidity and non-infringement opinions.
