Knobbe Martens Wendy Peterson Named 2011 Outstanding General Counsel By Orange County Business Journal
Wendy Peterson, General Counsel of Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP, was named Outstanding General Counsel of a Privately Held Company at the 2011 Orange County Business Journal’s General Counsel Awards. The General Counsel Awards were presented at a gala dinner on June 28 at the Hyatt Regency in Irvine, California.
Peterson was recognized for the significant impact she has made on the firm and the general counsel profession. Since joining the firm in 2002 she has negotiated the multi-million dollar purchase and financing of the firm’s Orange County office, helped the firm grow into one of the largest firms in Orange County and developed an innovative loss prevention program that has significantly reduced premiums for intellectual property law firms, resulting in savings for Knobbe Martens’ clients.
Peterson also serves on Knobbe Martens’ Diversity Committee and is an editor of the firm’s Legal Guide to IP Law. She serves on the Orange County Bar Association’s (OCBA) Professionalism and Ethics section as well as the OCBA’s Corporate Counsel section and is a member of the Steering Committee of the Patent Consultation Group for the Attorneys’ Liability Assurance Society, an insurer of AmLaw 200 law firms.
