Knobbe Martens Gets The Most Patents For San Diego County; Survey Shows Firm Keeping Region At Top Of Business Innovation
Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the United States, has consistently ranked as the top law firm, obtaining the most patents for San Diego County in each of the past three years according to an independent analysis of Patent Office records by Patenting Strategy, LLC. The rankings showed that Knobbe Martens outpaced its rivals by lopsided margins, obtaining more patents in 2007 for San Diego clients than the next four closest law firms combined.
The analysis included all law firms that obtained patents for San Diego companies, individuals and universities from 2005 - 2007, regardless of the location of the law firm. The patents were issued in a wide variety of technology fields, including biotech, medical device and wireless communications technologies.

The Patenting Strategy analysis also ranked the following top ten geographic regions within San Diego County showing the most patent activity over the three-year period:
