Description

Join Knobbe Martens on Thursday, January 19 for a lunch and interactive conversation about generating valuable patents across all industries.

Fifteen years ago, Knobbe Martens partner John Grover began managing a patent portfolio of a small ten-person company. Now co-managed with Knobbe partner Jarom Kesler, the portfolio has generated royalties and damages of over $1B U.S. in cash payments to their client.

During this one-hour presentation, learn about the challenges their client faced during its more than a decade-and-a-half litigation and the strategies used to ensure successful results. Specifically, John and Jarom will share their views on (1) how patent filing strategies led to positive infringement determinations, (2) how aggressive strategies at the Patent Office led to positive outcomes in over thirty challenge petitions filed by defendant-infringers, and (3) how targeted privilege waivers led to positive court rulings. Also, John and Jarom will share some of the insights gained as they were deposed multiple times and eventually testified as witnesses in U.S. District Court.
