Description

Using massive computational power, deep machine learning can now recognize objects and translate speech in real time, taking a big step toward true artificial intelligence. In the past few years, companies including Google, Apple and IBM have been aggressively snapping up startup companies and researchers with deep-learning expertise. For consumers, that results in software better able to sort through photos, understand spoken commands and translate text from foreign languages. For scientists and industry, deep-learning computers can search for potential drug candidates, map real neural networks in the brain or predict the functions of proteins.

Join Calit2 on Thursday, June 2, to:

  • Understand how deep machine learning is moving us closer to the original goal of AI;
  • Discover different types of machine learning and the technological challenges;
  • Hear from leaders in major companies with various AI strengths about their approaches to this powerful tool;
  • Learn about business opportunities and investments in this emerging field; and
  • See how startups are succeeding in this space

Partner Mike Guiliana will moderate and Partner Ron Schoenbaum will be a panelist at this event. For more information or to register, please visit the Calit2 website.
