General Summary: Leading intellectual property law firm Knobbe Martens is seeking a motivated, organized marketing professional to join our dynamic business development team. The Business Development Coordinator will play a key role in supporting and helping drive the firm’s business development efforts. This role will work cohesively with attorneys and team members across the marketing department and other business services teams to provide efficient support of administrative tasks and business development activities, while ensuring superior client service.
Responsibilities:
- Support the RFP, pitch, and proposal processes from planning through submission. Elements of this responsibility include:
- Working with attorneys, BD team, and other Firm personnel in the development and execution of proposals and presentations
- Organizing information relating to proposals and coordinating personnel contributing to the proposal processes
- Identifying the most applicable content and editing existing content for proposals and pitches
- Coordinating information and research requests with the Competitive Intelligence Specialist and Finance & Accounting departments
- Updating the pitch and experience tracking database, following up with lawyers as needed, and providing requested reports
- Coordinating assembly/production and delivery of finished product
- Assist the BD Events Coordinator to support firm-sponsored events and webinars, including development, updating, and distribution of communication materials, shipment of firm marketing materials & supplies, implementation of the event, processing check requests, as well as all necessary post-event follow-up.
- Work with firm’s Finance team and BD Admin to track and coordinate practice group and individual partner business development budgets.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with the Business Development Team on activity updates.
- Provide overall support to the Business Development team as directed by Director of Business Development.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred with 3 to 5 years’ relevant work experience.
- Excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective writing skills; excellent proofreading, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Communicate verbally and in writing in a professional, courteous manner with clients, colleagues and other business contacts.
- Must be efficient, accurate, flexible, timely and have excellent attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills including the ability to proactively anticipate problems as well as suggest and execute solutions.
- Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential material with care.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment/
- Team player and a positive attitude is a must.
- Able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
Base salary for this position is $65,000 to $85,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
Supervisor’s Title: Director of Business Development
Status: Non-Exempt, Full-time
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Hybrid options available. This position depends upon the ability of the employee to work closely with attorneys and staff members during regularly scheduled hours. This position requires the ability to work overtime, which often cannot be predicted in advance.
Location: Must be located near one of our West Coast offices; Southern California preferred.
