General Summary: Responsible for reviewing documents, performing quality control, calendaring and managing dates for U.S. Patents, Trademarks and Copyright matters according to established procedures. Work cohesively with team members and attorneys to provide efficient support of docketing tasks and superior client service.
Responsibilities:
- Process incoming and outgoing United States Patent and Trademark Office documents.
- Review correspondence to determine if dates need to be docketed, updated or closed.
- Provide quality control of outgoing Patent, Trademark and Copyright correspondence.
- Add and update matters to docketing system when required.
- Ensure that incoming correspondence is processed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Update and audit trail check of incoming and outgoing correspondence processed by peers.
- Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Previous clerical and data entry experience demanding a high attention to detail. Previous docketing or legal experience is desirable.
- Excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective writing skills; excellent proofreading, spelling, grammar, and punctuation a must
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Quick learner and strong multi-tasking skills are required.
- Able to adapt to constantly changing procedures and rules.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Team player and a positive attitude is a must.
- Must meet minimum testing requirements.
- Able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
Base salary for this position is $55,000 – $95,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
Status: Full time, Non-Exempt
Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. A remote option available once training is completed. This position depends upon the ability of the employee to work closely with attorneys and staff members during regularly scheduled hours. This position requires the ability to work overtime which often cannot be predicted in advance.
